On May 4, 2021, the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board (“PTAB”) reversed a patent examiner’s rejections and handed victory to a client of Thrive IP®. The client’s patent application, directed to lighting assembly technology, is expected to issue as a U.S. utility patent following the PTAB’s decision.
“A panel composed of three administrative patent judges considered the patent examiner’s rejection and reached the conclusion that our client indeed claimed a patentable improvement over existing technology,” explained Ben Klosowski, the lead patent attorney on the appeal.
