On August 09, 2018 the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board issued an Order in Opposition No. 92068437. This is an Opposition brought by Thrive IP client Powertex, Inc. against Eurolog S.R.L. After a short administrative litigation, Thrive IP was able to obtain cancellation of the opposed mark. The mark at issue was SEA BULK for “shipping containers.”
On December 06, 2018 the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board issued an Order in Opposition No. 91222284. This is an Opposition brought by E&J Gallo Winery of Modesto, California against Thrive IP client Thunder Road Brands, LLC. After over two years of administrative litigation, Thrive IP was able to obtain an Order of Dismissal of the Opposition proceeding. The mark at issue was THUNDER ROAD for “corn whiskey.”
Thrive IP has renewed its annual membership in the Association of Intellectual Property Firms. AIPF is an association of IP boutiques from around the world. Peter Brewer will serve on one of the planning committees for 2019.
Peter Brewer served as the lead-off speaker for the 2018 Sucker Rod Workshop held in Oklahoma City. The annual event was held at the Cox Convention Center on September 13, 2018. Peter spoke on the subject of Patents and the Energy Industry. Approximately 200 engineers were in attendance.
Peter Brewer is a member of the Board of TIPLA. He has assisted in the planning of two programs each year for the last 11 years. The next program is scheduled to take place on Friday November 2nd in Nashville, Tennessee.
